Absolut Water

It's the weekend, and to wind up those in the office that seem to be fixated by a 9am start and 6pm finish (totally impossible to do in any of our jobs) I leave at 5, purposely saying cheerio to everyone as I leave the office. Sod it, I am out tonight with friends on a Groupon deal at Funky Villa, where it’s a four-course meal plus free flow Carlsberg… and I want to get ready and prepared for what could be very messy…

The majority of people I have met here don't really drink that much, it's just not in the culture here, unlike the UK, and I notice that the staff in Funky Villa look mortified when I show up with my voucher for free-flow beer!

Several hours later we are a bit merry and as there was a 9.30 time limit to how much beer you could drink (and to be honest, my stomach resembled that of a medicine ball), we finish up and head back for vodka at Adrian and Edwin's place.

I made the drinks and after tasting mine, I did wonder whether the beer had numbed my taste buds - I couldn't taste any vodka at all... I then realised that they use old Absolut vodka bottles for storing their drinking water, so I'd used water instead of spirit. No wonder they tasted weak and disgusting!

I soon fixed that...
