I am doing an external training course this week - Service Strategy ITIL, with an exam at the end. I haven't done an exam for about 100 years...The venue is the Marriott Hotel in town and I have to be there for 8.30am. Having discussed the traffic with various people, and the best way to town in the morning, I leave the house at about 7, fearing that I’ll be stuck
in traffic and miss the beginning of the course.
I get to the hotel at 7.30.
So much everyone telling me that it’ll take at
least 90 minutes to get to The Marriott!
It's not a bad week, but quite hard going. I put on about 5kg with all the biscuits, snacks, lunches and afternoon treats that were laid on throughout the day...
The exam is on the Friday at the end of the week – and in the afternoon after a large lunch, and it was a lot harder than I
thought. The first two questions were quite technical, which was something of a
surprise, and I really was not sure whether I have done OK or not. Strangely
enough, there were none of the same sorts of questions as the mock exam, where
you could pretty much guess the right answer by
a)
the length of the answer (longer the better)
b)
the occurrences of the words ‘value’, ‘business’
and ‘customer’
so I was pretty stuffed (and that was nothing to do with the lunch either)… Anyway, I finished in about
30 minutes and then had officially 90 minutes left to kill… Having re-done one
of the answers, I decided that I ought to not think too hard and just left the
exam room...
(btw, I found out about a week later that I passed...)
