After a very cultural day wandering around Wats and Museums, we head back to the hotel to freshen up before going for a massage. I was slightly apprehensive about this, as I really don’t like people touching my skin repeatedly, but we found this one for a foot and leg massage on Silom which seemed perfect considering we'd been walking about all day. It was busy, so we assumed it was pretty good. We were sat in the window which meant that we would probably be gawped at by the hoards of people meandering up and down Silom during our treatment. Oh well.
My masseur had incredibly expert hands all over my (disgusting hobbit) feet and legs and I drifted in and out of consciousness whilst he worked his magic. Mmmmmmm. I could have done without the repulsive tea they served afterwards, however, which I think was made from the water they'd used to clean our feet before they started...
Legs and feet all done, time to discover the bars and clubs of this place: they are all situated in and around Silom Soi 2 and 4 and we start at DJ Station – a place that will always have fond memories for me as it was the music that we often chill out / do housework to in KL - not that I actually do much housework, but you get the idea.
A great first day – starting with culture and sliding rapidly down into the gutter!
