Adrian didn’t have the massage but had found us somewhere to eat (pad Thai) along the street before we head off back to the hotel to shower all the oil and masseur handling smells off me, and get changed for the cabaret show that we have booked for tonight - Calypso. We decided to wear the shirts that we bought in Chakuchak market this morning, like a uniform, and we look smart.
The show was pretty good actually, though it was really just a rather glorified drag show, with a number of ladyboys dancing about on stage, miming to old show tunes. I was amazed at some of them – they looked so much like women, and I was trying work out where they put their bits as they wore the skimpiest of clothes that left not a lot to the imagination. I guess some had it chopped off already.
After the show, you got a chance to have your photo taken with the performers, which I didn't do, but it gave you the opportunity to see their faces up close. I think there is less plaster on the walls of my apartment!
