I let Mike sleep in a bit to get over the jet lag and wake him with coffee and then get energised by hitting the gym for an hour, before relaxing in the pool as we plan the day.
Today’s agenda is to go into town, starting with some lunch in the Japanese buffet place, Joyoga in Starhill Gallery, up the KL Tower and Bukit Nanas before back home. Lunch was fantastic – I knew Mike would enjoy it – his favourite foods in an ‘eat-as-much-as-you-can’ capacity. I have to say that it was pretty nice and we grazed on fresh sashimi, sushi, tempura, etc for an hour or so before heading out. We were going to go straight to the Tower, but it was pissing down with rain, so we had a glass of (crap) wine in the Marriot foyer bar whilst it passed over.
Oh my.
It’s really hot, and we are sweating buckets (plus I have forgotten where the exit is) by the time we get to the monorail station – to head to Bukit Bintang and back to the Pavilion where we’d parked the car. I had tentatively agreed to meet Charles, and some other friends (Adrian and Edwin) for some food tonight – it’s a public holiday tomorrow, so they are all in town – but even though I thought we’d have enough time to go home and change before meeting them, I was seriously mistaken, and we missed them. That was quite annoying really, but my fault completely, but Charles agrees to come to us here in Mont Kiara on his way home, for some dim sum on Jalan Ipoh, which was delicious.
