After lunch and a quick visit to a disused mine, we head home for a well needed snooze before deciding on the next meal. We decide to head to this hawker place (Café Hillview)
and the idea was for us to all pick some food items and share, so we chose a
load of stuff – satay, chicken rice, curry noodles, banana leaf curry etc,
thinking we’d all tuck in. No, they let me eat everything – and not wanting to
waste anything, or risk offence, I tried my best...I was completely stuffed, and wasn’t able to finish everything, despite it being completely delicious.
Adrian’s cousin (‘s sister, i.e. cousin…) came too and was
asking whether I was married. Really? I scared Adrian and said I’d marry her
to become one of the Lee family, and he nearly choked… We left her and his parents at the
restaurant and we went out for a few drinks in the town – and it was pretty
lively (compared to the day time where the place was very quiet). We
started off in this place called Friends Place, which was OK, if not a bit quiet, so we moved on from there to a livelier place along
the road called Barbeza. This was much busier and we were sat next to a load
of Malay girls without scarves on, drinking and smoking. I am sure at least one of them was lesbian as she was wearing dungarees, had a
dodgy hairdo and a monobrow.
Another bottle of wine down, we wandered along to see if
there was anywhere else worth visiting, but the choices were a bit lacking, so
we headed back to Barbeza and had a couple of cocktails before heading back to
the house to pass out in my temporary bed...
...waking up at 6am fully dressed with the lights on and feeling like crap.
