I am trying to make the most of my time left in Malaysia and I meet
Arif today for a drive to somewhere to sit in the sun and have a picnic. So we set off, and after getting lost in the ridiculous road system around Batu Caves, we are on the road to Hulu Yam.
The first place we stop is these hot springs at Kolam Air
Panas – I was imagining a natural area where people just bathe in
the water, feeling the mystical healing and medicinal powers that such places
offer.
Instead, all that was here were a couple of man-made concrete pools
filled with filthy brown water and a load of warning signs saying that these
springs can spread communicable diseases!
Hardly inviting, so we didn’t plunge.
