I've been invited out by some of my good friends tonight for an eight course Chinese banquet at this place called Island Bistro in Jalan Bukit
Bintang as what turns out to be one of several Farewell Malaysia meals. Of course, there was drama associated with deciding where to eat along the lines of asking on several different days what food I'd prefer to eat (Chinese), and then checking several times if I was sure I wanted Chinese (yes, I did) and then finding that the Chinese restaurants that they knew were full on the night, but no need to go into that here...)
I've had a couple of false start farewell dinners in the past (I like to call them practice runs) as I have extended my stay a couple of times, but this one is for real, and it's dawning on me that my time here is coming to an end, so the evening was tinged with sadness for me - that said, though, it was lovely.
Anyway, after beers and drinks, Adrian, Edwin and me
head off in search of claypot noodles and crispy pork in Chinatown. Yummy!
